1. Who We Are
Script Hare is a screenwriting and production management application owned and operated by Cinema Hare LLC ("we," "us," "our"). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at admin@scripthare.com.
2. What Data We Store
We only store data that is necessary for the application to function. We do not collect data for advertising, tracking, or profiling purposes.
- Account information — your email address and display name, used to authenticate you and identify your account.
- Scripts and production data — screenplays, cast, crew, locations, gear, and production events you create within the app. This is your content and is stored so you can access it across sessions and devices.
- Google Calendar connection — if you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we store an OAuth refresh token so the app can read and write calendar events on your behalf. We do not access any other Google data.
- Payment information — subscription billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. We retain only your Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription status.
- Functional cookies — we use cookies only to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide and operate Script Hare:
- Authenticating your account and maintaining your session
- Storing and syncing your scripts and production data
- Connecting to Google Calendar when you opt in
- Processing subscription payments through Stripe
- Sending production-related emails (e.g., call sheets) when you request them
- Providing AI-powered script analysis when you use those features

5. AI-Powered Features
Script Hare offers optional AI features (script analysis, proofreading, scene suggestions) powered by Google Gemini. When you use these features, the relevant portion of your script is sent to Google's API for processing. We do not store the AI responses beyond your active session, and we do not use your scripts to train AI models. Google's handling of this data is governed by their Gemini API Terms of Service.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed in Section 4, and only to the extent necessary to provide the features you use.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers hosted in the United States via Supabase. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication tokens, and role-based access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your scripts and production data are visible within the app.
- Export your data — you can export your scripts in Fountain format at any time.
- Delete your data — you may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting admin@scripthare.com.
- Disconnect third-party services — you can revoke Google Calendar access at any time through your Google account settings.
9. Rights for Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- The legal basis for processing your data is contract performance (providing the service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (maintaining security and improving the app).
- You may request rectification of inaccurate data, restriction of processing, or portability of your data.
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
- Your data is transferred to the United States. By using Script Hare, you consent to this transfer.
10. Children's Privacy
Script Hare is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users via email or a prominent notice within the app. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
