Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using Script Hare ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. The Service is owned and operated by Cinema Hare LLC ("we," "us," "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Script Hare. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you represent that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the Service.

3. Accounts

To use Script Hare, you must create an account using a valid email address or a supported third-party login provider (such as Google). You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately at admin@scripthare.com if you suspect unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our sole discretion, including but not limited to cases of Terms violations, abusive behavior, or activities that threaten the integrity or security of the Service.

4. Free and Pro Plans

Script Hare offers two tiers of service:

• Free Plan — allows you to create and store up to 4 scripts with access to core screenwriting and production features.
• Pro Plan — a paid monthly subscription that unlocks unlimited scripts, advanced AI-powered features (script analysis, proofreading, scene suggestions), and other premium functionality as it becomes available.

We reserve the right to modify the features included in each plan at any time. If we make material changes that reduce the functionality of the Pro Plan, we will notify active subscribers in advance.

5. Subscription and Billing

The Pro Plan is billed on a monthly recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method each billing cycle until you cancel. All payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details.

• Pricing — the current subscription price is displayed at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.
• Cancellation — you may cancel your subscription at any time through the Manage Subscription option in your profile. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain Pro access until that date. There are no cancellation fees or long-term obligations.
• Refunds — if you cancel within 48 hours of your initial subscription or a renewal charge, you may request a full refund for that billing period by contacting admin@scripthare.com. Refund requests made after 48 hours are granted at our discretion.
• Downgrade — when your subscription ends, your account reverts to the Free Plan. Your scripts and data are preserved, but you will only be able to access or edit up to 4 scripts until you re-subscribe.

6. Your Content

You own your content. Scripts, production data, notes, and any other content you create within Script Hare remain your intellectual property. We claim no ownership, license, or rights over your content beyond what is necessary to operate the Service (storing, displaying, and syncing your data).

• You are solely responsible for the content you create and store on the Service.
• You represent that you have the right to use any content you upload or create.
• You may export your scripts in Fountain format at any time.
• If you delete your account, we will delete your content from our servers. This process may take up to 30 days to complete across all backups.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Script Hare to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Upload or distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or threaten others
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service
• Resell access to the Service without our written permission

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

8. AI-Powered Features

Script Hare offers optional AI-powered features including script analysis, proofreading, and scene suggestions, powered by third-party AI services (currently Google Gemini). By using these features:

• You acknowledge that AI-generated suggestions are provided "as-is" and may contain inaccuracies, errors, or inappropriate content.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any AI-generated suggestions in your work.
• We disclaim all liability for AI-generated content. Cinema Hare LLC is not responsible for any damages, losses, or claims arising from your reliance on AI-generated suggestions, including but not limited to creative decisions, factual errors, or unintentional similarities to existing works.
• Relevant portions of your script are sent to the third-party AI provider for processing. We do not use your scripts to train AI models. The AI provider's handling of your data is governed by their own terms and privacy policy.

9. Third-Party Services

Script Hare integrates with third-party services to provide its functionality:

• Supabase — authentication and data storage
• Stripe — payment processing
• Google APIs — Calendar integration and AI features
• Resend — email delivery

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

10. Future Features

Script Hare may introduce additional features in the future, including but not limited to marketplace functionality for buying and selling scripts. Such features will be subject to additional terms that will be presented to you at the time of launch. Use of future features will require acceptance of those additional terms.

11. Intellectual Property

The Script Hare application, including its design, code, branding, logo, and documentation, is the property of Cinema Hare LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service. This does not affect your ownership of the content you create using the Service (see Section 6).

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

Script Hare is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Any defects will be corrected in a timely manner
• The results obtained from using the Service (including AI features) will be accurate or reliable

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cinema Hare LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or creative work, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cinema Hare LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users via email or a prominent notice within the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in the State of Ohio.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cinema Hare LLC regarding your use of Script Hare, and supersede any prior agreements.
